Cleansing and Charging your Crystals

There is so much information about how to charge and cleanse your crystals. Since there are so many ways, I will talk about what has worked best for me and how to incorporate this into the regular maintenance of your crystals.

It is very important to incorporate cleansing your crystals into your regular routine, because crystals are energy and therefore are always absorbing and moving through different energies. To keep your crystal working its magic with you, you must cleanse so they don't get bogged down with too much density.
There are 3 stones that are considered self cleansers and chargers, meaning you don't have to use any of the other techniques that I will mention here to cleanse them. They do all this work themselves. You can also use these three stones to cleanse and charge any of your other crystals. The three stones are Kyanite, Citrine, and the ever beloved Selenite. They are always filtering negative, dense energies to uplifting, positive, high vibrations. Having all or one of these is great to have in your crystal kit.
Now, some other more ritualistic ways to cleanse your crystals involve salt water, full moons, the sun, smudging, and intention. These are some of my most favorite ways and allow you to work with the energies of the solar system, nature, and your inner magic.

The first way that I mentioned is using salt water to cleanse your crystals. This is very simple and anybody can do this. All you need to do is go to the ocean if you are near an ocean or mix filtered water with real sea salt or himalayan salt and lay your crystals to be cleansed in the bowl overnight. Be sure to look into your crystals and make sure they can get wet, because there are certain stones that can be ruined if they are submerged in water.
Full moon crystal cleansing involves laying your crystals outside or near a window that gets full moon light. The light from our friendly moon clears and dissipates all dense, negative energy by connecting with the crsystalline structure. By the next morning you can remove them from their space and resume to using them as normal.
Charging your crystals in the sun is the same concept as the full moon, but instead of at night you lay them on a window seal or outside during a day when the sun is shining bright and strong, feel intuitively how long they need to be out there anywhere from a couple hours to the whole day, and then bring them inside. Resume using as usual.
Another favorite that I use more regularly than any of the others is smudging. This involves using smoking some sort of herb, wood, oils, or brush to pull the density out of the crystals. Some popular smudging tools involve sage, juniper, palo santos, amber incense, eucalyptus, and lavender. However, my only advice is to use what works best for you and to use your intuition. You just simply start by lighting one end of your smudge stick and go over each stone you want to be cleansed.
This last way is the best way to tune into your inner magic. Just allow your intention of cleansing and merging with the stone to come through, while holding or having the crystal around you. Meditate on this intention for as long as you feel you need, and there you have it, the crystal is cleansed and even more connected with you.

Play around with these techniques and have fun. Working with crystals is meant to be magical, playful, intuitive, and uplifting, so don't think too hard about it and have fun playing around.
Sincerely,
Rebekah Elizabeth
